SIGNALS THIS 153rd WEEK

There  are no signals this week from NSE. There is a Buy signal from Nasdaq. Must be due to the Microsoft offer given on 1st March. Even Gold has gone into a medium term downtrend. The two stocks in NSEWS open are still not doing badly. The volatility is showing signs of abating.  Looks like the storm is coming to an end. Stocks do have their price fluctuating quite often. And NSEWS cherishes it. Rather NSEWS makes a killing when the price falls, to buy again when the price starts rising. Yet fluctuations like plus or minus 10% or more in a day in a stock, or 3% and above in the index very often, we believe are times of extreme volatility, where no one can walk sure footed. SIGNALS THIS 152nd WEEK

There  are no signals this week. Two more stocks (Herohonda and Munjalshowa) have gone into long term downtrend this week. Only 2 stocks in our Universe keep their head above and is still afloat. (See Open Signals) As we have mentioned before, every entry should in turn have a good exit strategy, or you may get struck. So is for a good investment strategy. The SELL is as important as a BUY. Or you will never know, where your investment has vanished. Like the Bear Stearns stock which was quoting at $170 about 14 months back, was not worth $2, which JP Morgan paid for each one of their shares (that also not with full willingness but with Fed's cajole, backing and covering the risks on their behalf). The total price they paid was less than the price of Bear Stearns' headquarters in Madison Avenue, or less than a Mumbai real estate deal.) This for an investment Bank with 85 year's history and which till recently was the third largest US Brokerage firms behind Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. And on last Friday the firms' executives had told investors and analysts that the firm's book value was still $80.  This Book Value does not convert  into Share Price as we realize yet again. That is what we mean by saying "share has an intrinsic value but not a logical price, which depends very much on the market, demand and the instant ( or time)" in our PRINCIPLE of NSEWS. Well cash in hand is definitely better than cash in a sinking ship. So if one believes in Buy and forget (sorry, Buy and Hold!!!) theory of investing, one may as well forget the investment in such cases. To watch all of the stocks live please do visit Open Signals. The NVF has again increased a little. The wild fluctuations in the market prices continued for another week. There is one Buy & one Sell this week. HeroHonda has turned into a Sell and Asianpaint which has been on a Buywatch for last few weeks has turned into a Buy at last. And after two weeks of collapses, the stocks in NSEWS Buy and Buywatch continues to remain not much affected. Surprise, is'nt it? SIGNALS THIS 150th WEEK
There are again no Buys this week. The dearth of prospective scrips continues. 6 stocks / index (^NSEI, Indiabull, IOC, LT, ONGC, Ucalfuel) have gone into long term downtrend. NSEWS had given Sell signals on all stocks in our universe till now. Only 2 out of them has given Buys last week. All others are still languishing. It is of interest to note how those stocks are faring now: Open Signals . Scrips like I-FLEX, LUMAXInd, UCALFuel,TVSMotor, Petronet, Indiabull, GOOG, Indorama, Begepain, Canbk, ICICIBank, APIL, ABB, BajajAuto etc., have lost more than 30% and upto 59% in Market valuation since NSEWS had given Sell signals. Almost all stocks except 3 of them have lost more than 8% as seen below.Except I-Flex which gave Sell signal on 20th July, 2007 and has lost 59%, all others gave Sell signals since 20th Dec, 2007 only. All stocks in our universe had generated Sell signals till last week. Only 2 of them gave Buy signals last week, and are staying overboard even after the big falls post Budget.
