SIGNALS THIS 148th WEEK

                          Saturday, February 23, 2008

The blank sheet continues for the third week consecutively. No Buy signals yet. Four more stocks (Reliance, Gail, Canbank & BHEl ) are going into long term downtrend.

The NVF remains at more or less same levels this week also. Looks like it will be sometime till we get some Buy signals. None of the Buywatch signals has turned into Buys yet.

SIGNALS THIS 147th WEEK

                          Sunday, February 17, 2008

From the deep slumber all around, some heads are slowly lifting up. This is due to some minor activity of the last two days of the past week. Looks like after the free fall, there is just a toe-hold somewhere on the side of the cliff. There is just a Buywatch this week. No fullfledged Buys still.

NVF is also slowly coming down. Just the time to remind ourselves that patience has a habit of paying back those that believes in it.

SIGNALS THIS 146th WEEK

                          Saturday, February 9, 2008

The glut continues this week also. There are no Buy signals again. And NVF has gone up again to extra-ordinarily high levels. Time to sit tight and wait for Buy opportunities which hopefully will come in coming few weeks. This week 4 more stocks and Sensex have started on marked  downward trends.

SIGNALS THIS 145th WEEK

Friday, February 1, 2008

And the last fort has fallen this week. The last stock still remaining on our earlier Buy list, has also given a Sell signal this week. Volatility has come down from the preposterous levels, but is still very high (look at the fork formed on the chart). Looks like a long crawl ahead, tille we find some succour / support. One stock (ASIANPAIN.NS) is on Buy watch and will give a Buy only if it crosses and stays above 1224 on monday.

Bye and Happy Investing.

NVF

In order to understand the volatility of the market, we have introduced a volatility factor. This is based on the volatility of the most prominent scrip contributing to the overall volatility, and which may be an indicator of the market as a whole. This volatilty factor has been calculated as a factor from 0 to 10 with 20% volatility as 0 and 60% volatility as 10. (see posting given below:

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/nsews/message/112

However the volatility and daily movement of sensex is of no concern to an investor with a longer range of outlook.

NVF CHART

PRINCIPLE

The principle behind the strategy followed by us is in a nutshell:
One can't judge the Top, nor the Bottom. Buy when the stock starts to go up. Sell when the Stock starts to go down after the climb. Stock has an intrinsic value, but not a logical price, based on the intrinsic value. It depends very much on the market, and the instant (or time). It is good the market falls in a correction, you get a chance to buy them cheaper.

FOCUS

The earlier signals can be viewed in the form of a table at http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/nsews/database?method=reportRows&tbl=2 , which had been maintained since inception upto July 2006. The total history is now available here http://www.inetword.com/vmoh/nsewsTable.html. The total universe of the stocks being monitored as well as the last signals are also available there.

For any clarifications on the postings pl review earlier postings especially, http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/nsews/message/65 at yahoo group NSEWS. For any discussions on this as well as any clarifications, pl contact the yahoo NSEWS group. (http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/nsews/)

The marketprice of stocks in our performance of open signals are based on Yahoo live quotes, and hence the accuracy is dependent on their data.
